Collaborators
Assembling the euteleost tree of life (EToL) and educating the public about its importance requires the collaboration of many investigators with expertise in fish systematics, molecular biology, morphology, phylogenetic analysis, bioinformatics, high-end computing, and informal education. Many participants of this project fall into two or more of these categories. Participants form a network with excellent working relationships developed through previous collaborations. Our working group includes:
- Richard Broughton, University of Oklahoma, PI
- Millicent Sanciangco, Old Dominion University, PI
- Terry Grande, Loyola University Chicago, Co-PI
- Kent Carpenter, Old Dominion University, Co-PI
- Nancy Holcroft, Johnson County Community College, Co-PI
- E. O. Wiley, University of Kansas, Co-PI
- J. Andres Lopez, Florida Museum of Natural History, Co-PI
- Guoqing Lu, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Co-PI
- Guillermo Orti, George Washington University, Co-PI
- Chenhong Li, University of Nebraska, Co-PI
- Leo Smith, American Museum of Natural History, Co-PI
- Judy Scotchmoor, U.C. Berkeley, Collaborator
- Judy Diamond, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Collaborator
- Teresa MacDonald, University of Kansas, Collaborator
- Henry Neeman, University of Oklahoma, Collaborator
- G. David Johnson, Smithsonian Institution, Collaborator
- Dan Hough, Oklahoma Biological Survey, Collaborator
The project will be organized into four major components, each with its corresponding research groups and group leader (leader is listed first, with others listed alphabetically):
- Molecular Group: Broughton, Carpenter, Li, Lopez, Orti, Smith
- Morphology Group: Wiley, Grande, Holcroft, Johnson
- Data management and phylogenetic analysis group: Orti, Broughton, Hough, Li, Lopez, Lu, Neeman, Wiley
- Education and broader impact: MacDonald, Broughton, Broughton, Diamond, Orti, Scotchmoor, Wiley
